Act 3

Making it happen

Every Remazel project begins with a conversation. From understanding the customer’s needs to delivering the final equipment, this chapter follows the people who turn an initial need into a working solution.

Across teams and disciplines, their decisions, expertise and collaboration move the project forward, one step at a time.

The journey of a project

01 / 08

Engineering & Innovation

Engineering drives every Remazel project from the first technical discussion with the customer. Our engineers translate operational needs into equipment designed for a specific application, often finding new ways to solve challenges that standard solutions cannot address.

02 / 08

Sales & Proposal

Every project begins by listening and working alongside the client to turn their need into a technical proposal: the first step in bringing the project to life.

03 / 08

Project Management

Once an order is awarded, the project moves into a coordinated execution phase. Engineering, procurement, production and testing must advance together, with their activities aligned to the project’s objectives.

04 / 08

Project Engineering

Once the project requirements are defined, Project Engineering develops the equipment’s final technical design. Although the Proposal phase already establishes a detailed concept, this is where the solution takes shape in full: the project team refines the design and produces the technical specifications and documentation that guide procurement, manufacturing and assembly.

05 / 08

Supply Chain & Operations

Operations turns each Remazel project plan into coordinated action. It aligns engineering, production sites, suppliers and logistics, bringing together the resources needed to build and deliver complex equipment. When activities take place across different locations and countries, this coordination keeps every stage connected and the project moving forward.

06 / 08

Automation & Software

As the equipment takes shape, the Automation & Software team develops the control system that will make it work. This phase covers the design of electrical and automation systems, including software, operator interfaces and communication with other onboard systems. These elements are integrated into the equipment through close collaboration with Project Engineering and Production.

07 / 08

Production & Assembly

Production and assembly are involved in a Remazel project from its early stages. As Engineering develops the technical solution, the Production team helps assess how it can be built in practice, considering the equipment, tools, safety measures and quality standards required. This is especially important for equipment that brings rising levels of complexity with each new project.

08 / 08

Commissioning & Service

Commissioning is the final stage of the project journey: after testing and delivery, the equipment is installed, put through functional tests and fine-tuned for operation. Working alongside the customer and other teams on site, Service resolves technical issues, supports operator training and helps prepare the system for handover.

Engineering & Innovation

Engineering drives every Remazel project from the first technical discussion with the customer. Our engineers translate operational needs into equipment designed for a specific application, often finding new ways to solve challenges that standard solutions cannot address.

Innovation takes shape at every stage: in how components work together, how the equipment is controlled and how it performs safely and reliably in its operating environment.

Our Engineering department guides this work across different areas of expertise, setting the technical direction for complex projects. By adopting new technologies, strengthening engineering capabilities and applying lessons learned from previous orders, they turn each project’s challenges into better solutions for the next.

02 / 08

Sales & Proposal

Every project begins by listening and working alongside the client to turn their need into a technical proposal: the first step in bringing the project to life.

The team works at the beginning of the process, analysing the requirements and working with Sales and the technical teams to develop a solution that is feasible and suited to the application. They prepare the technical and commercial proposal, defining the proposed equipment, its main features, costs and delivery timeline.

Once the order is awarded, the agreed scope and requirements are passed on to the technical team responsible for the final design, execution and testing, giving the project a clear starting point.

03 / 08

Project Management

Once an order is awarded, the project moves into a coordinated execution phase. Engineering, procurement, production and testing must advance together, with their activities aligned to the project’s objectives.

Progress, schedule and budget are monitored throughout, while the client remains closely involved as questions and changes arise. Technical requirements and contractual commitments guide decisions at every stage and help keep the work moving forward.

The challenge for Project Management is to make collaboration effective across all the teams involved, so that every phase and discipline contributes to a final result delivered within the timeframe and on the terms agreed with the client.

The Project Engineer coordinates the mechanical, electrical and hydraulic disciplines, resolves technical questions as the work progresses, and supports testing and commissioning when needed.

The challenge for Remazel’s engineering teams is to bring these complex elements together in an innovative, fully integrated solution, often developed and built for the first time.

Within this process, Supply Chain links each project’s technical requirements to a network of trusted suppliers across Italy, Europe and China. It coordinates the sourcing of components and materials as needs evolve, ensuring they are available when production needs them.

Together, Operations and Supply Chain connect planning with execution, helping each project move from engineering to production and, ultimately, to the final delivery.

During testing and commissioning, the system’s response is checked under operating conditions, and the adjustments needed for reliable performance are made before handover to the customer.

Working closely with Engineering, Supply Chain and Quality Control, they help resolve issues that arise during construction, both at Remazel facilities and across its international network of suppliers. This is where the work of different teams comes together as a complete system, ready for testing.

This phase also requires careful planning of the resources, tools and activities needed on site. Coordination between the customer, the site team and Remazel’s technical departments is crucial and helps manage schedules and unexpected issues, bringing the project from a tested system to equipment ready for use.
